We’re in France! After nine years of patiently waiting (and saving) we’re back.
We rented a car in Nice and proceeded to our hotel in Villefranche-sur-Mer which, according the map, is only 15 km from the airport. That may be true, but we hit some pretty heavy traffic so it took us the better part of 45 minutes to make it to our home for the next four days or so. This portion of our trip is not going to be as action packed as the last one (by design). Italy was amazing to be sure. We covered a lot of ground in just over two weeks. We’ll be covering ground on this trip too, but not at quite the same pace I don’t think.
We’re staying at the Welcome Hotel.
And this is the view from our balcony.
Yeah, that’s the Mediterranean Sea out our window. We’re feeling very blessed (again) to be staying in such a beautiful location.
We had a quick walk around town and decide to eat at the Cosmo Bar and Restaurant which is literally next door to our hotel. We sat out on the terrace that basically has the same view as above. We had a couple of glasses of wine. Deanna had the Cosmo Salad, a very tasty combination of shrimp, grapefruit, avocado and hearts of palm. I had a steak-frites. Both were very very good. Having a spectacular view didn’t hurt either.
I’m not sure what tomorrow will bring. Which is quite a nice feeling actually given the last two and a half weeks have been very structured
